Alice Guy - The Girl In The Armchair

Description

Frank Watson was spending a month in New York when one day he received a letter from his father asking him to come home and telling him that a surprise awaited him on his return.

A young man loses more money gambling than he can afford to pay. When a moneylender confronts him at home, he steals money from his father’s safe to settle his debt. The whole scene is observed by a young woman hiding in an armchair. As she loves him, she replaces the money with her own, but the young man confesses everything to his father, swears never to gamble again, and all ends well!

A silent short film. The film is available only in its original version.
