ARTE Reports - France: The Village, The Refugees And The Photographer

Description

In Saint-Martory – a village of 1000 inhabitants near Toulouse in France – has been hosting 50 Somali, Pakistani and Albanian migrants.
Their arrival has been a shock for the mayor and the population, who were warned at the last possible moment. After six months things quieted and were going over smoothly; so Jean-François Delort – owner of the Saint-Martory castle – and photographer Patrick Willocq have decided to show their everyday reality. The exhibition "My Story is one of Hope" showcases French people and asylum seekers posing for photographic tableaus in which each reveal their own journey and discover the other's.
