Mapping the World - Kosovo, 10 Years Of Independence And What Future?
Description
10 years after its independence, Kosovo is still in a difficult situation: it is not recognized by the whole international community, does not have economic viability, is corrupted and marred by criminal networks... This small Central European country has a hard time becoming fully autonomous.
If Serbia wants to join the European Union it will have to recognize Kosovo. Thus Kosovo's future most likely depends on Europe. That is unless it also unfolds in Beijing – which is looking at Kosovo as a key addition to its new "Silk Roads ".
