Indonesia I - The Lontar Men
Part 8/20
Synopsis
Along the coast of Rote Island, the southern-most tip of the Indonesian archipelago, a vegetal barrier of huge palm trees points skywards: these trees are called lontars.
They constitute the island's wealth. They are used for food, clothing, housing and getting drunk, but also for medicinal purposes… Joseph and Jonas, the island's two healers, are emergency doctor Bernard Fontanille's guides, as he discovers an astonishing therapeutic practice.
